The London Complaints Choir had their first public performance last Friday on BBC London.

3 of us in the early morning cold watched by 7 people and a dog. It was really good fun being on a live programme and one of the presenters said they would send a reporter to one of our final performances!

Withdrawal from Sing London 23rd May, 2007 @ 21:40
syniqal
Due to unforeseen circumstances, we have decided to withdraw from the Sing London festival and will be continuing the London Complaints Choir as an independent project as was originally planned.

As it currently stands, we are still listed on the Sing London website as being a member of the festival, and, despite many requests for it to be altered, we are still listed as Sing London's own Complaints Choir. Please don't email your complaints to the address listed on the Sing London website as this is their own email address and the complaints will most likely never reach us.

If you have a complaint to submit, or you would like to join the choir, please visit our website and tell us. You can also hear the music, and we will soon be launching a discussion forum for any questions or ideas which people may have, as well as details of upcoming rehearsals and performances.

Regards,

Benjamin Nolan,
London Complaints Choir.

Website Updated! 21st May, 2007 @ 09:52
syniqal
The London Complaints Choir website has been updated! It's now looking a bit less thrown-together (although it still needs work!) and there is a new section entitled The Music, from where people can download a computerised version of the song to get a feel for it.

As the lyrics are an on-going process, they won't be uploaded or finalised until rehearsals are announced, so please keep submitting your complaints about London and life in the city using this form. If you're stuck for ideas, you may want to think of something about your job, such as the morning commute, the area in which you live, or the cost of living.

If you have any questions about the project, please feel free to email benjamin.nolan@londoncomplaintschoir.co.uk, and I will answer them as soon as possible. If you would like to join the choir, complete this form and we will contact you whenever we have new information.

Regards,

Benjamin Nolan,
London Complaints Choir.

We have media interest from 3 different parties! How exciting!

The deadline on submitting complaints has been extended because the performance dates were postponed slightly.

What are you waiting for? Join up and submit your London based complaints! :)

» Midnight Tonight!
Just a reminder that you have until midnight tonight to submit complaints for inclusion in the London Complaints Choir song, as, from tomorrow, we will have to start fitting them to the music! The deadline has been extended until rehearsal dates are announced, so please keep submitting your complaints!

You can submit complaints through our website. You can also join the choir at any point from now until the performance dates (yet to be announced, but expected to be mid-June).

We also have a this community in which rehearsal dates, performance dates and other information will be posted.

So, please, get complaining!
» London Complaints Choir: One Week Left!
There's only one week left until the deadline for submitting complaints for inclusion in the London Complaints Choir song, so if you haven't yet submitted a complaint, what are you waiting for?

We're also still looking for singers, so if you'd like to sing in the choir go and fill out the form! You don't have to have had experience singing in choirs to join, and you don't need to sound like an opera singer; all we ask is that you come along and try!

A computerised recording of the song is available here if you're interested in singing. Feedback (constructive!) is also appreciated.

Don't forget that you can also ask questions and make suggestions about the project in this community.

So... go complain! :D

Edit: Hmm... My connection to that server is being very, very slow at the moment, so that MP3 hasn't finished uploading. Check back in half an hour or so! The MP3 has now finished uploading. :)
» We're Good to Go!
The London Complaints Choir is a project inspired by the Complaints Choirs of Helsinki, St. Petersburg, Hamburg and Birmingham, which were organised and run by Tellervo Kalleinen and Oliver Kochta-Kalleinen.

We're looking for both singers and complaints (not necessarily together!), so if you you live in or around Greater London and want to join the choir or have a gripe that you want to see included in the song, please go to either "Join the Choir" or "Submit a Complaint" page and fill in the form.

Our website is now up and running, which means we're good to go!

Mawgen - the main organiser of the project - and I are really, really looking forward to seeing your complaints, so please get posting!

Regards,

Benjamin Nolan,
Composer and Webmaster of the London Complaints Choir.
